Langley, WA 98260 360. 730.8165 I’ve enjoyed designing and building things since I was a kid, including a plywood hydroplane at age 12. At the University of Washington, where I studied architecture, urban planning and naval architecture, I met my wife, Christy. During that time, her parents let me trash their basement where I built a racing sailboat. Christy and I have been doing custom woodwork for over 30 years.
My varied background has brought critical experience to the work I now do with custom doors, furniture, carving, cabinets, and architectural woodwork. I take inspiration from the simplicity in Japanese aesthetics, the honesty in Shaker construction, the intimate understanding of natural forms by Northwest Coast native carvers, and the fluid expression of Charles and Henry Greene. I take great pleasure in designing and building custom entry doors. They are a portal into the home, the point of transition where you first place your hand. I enjoy helping clients find a distinctive way of expressing something of themselves in their entryways.
